I grew up in a military family and lived all over the United States throughout my childhood. My parents instilled in me the values of hard work, fidelity, and diligence, which have informed my life and career.
After working as a research analyst for the federal government, I realized I loved teaching young people about science and transitioned to becoming a teacher. Since becoming a teacher 20 years ago, I have been awarded the Orange Unified Teacher of the Year, Bonita Unified Teacher of the Year, and Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year.
I moved to San Dimas with my husband Drew because we wanted to find a tight-knit community in which to raise our family. Drew and I have raised 5 sons here in San Dimas, all of whom have attended San Dimas public schools. Since moving to the city, I've been active in the community: I coached baseball through San Dimas Little League and soccer for AYSO in San Dimas and LaVerne. And I've mentored San Dimas High School students into understanding the connection between classroom science and the career field.
I'm running for Mayor of San Dimas because I want to keep our neighborhoods safe, develop community-oriented programs, revitalize downtown responsibly, and preserve the character and environment of our city.
Currently, I serve as the Treasurer for the Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. Sac) Educational Foundation and as a Board Member for the National Education Association (NEA). I have a unique perspective as a mother, teacher, and community leader to make change.
